Welcome to Style by Kate Lauren. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our services.

1. Introduction

By booking any services with Style by Kate Lauren, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

2. Services Provided

Style by Kate Lauren offers bespoke Personal Styling services, including but not limited to:

  • Wardrobe Refresh

  • Personal Shopping

  • Online Wardrobe Spruce

  • Presenting / Style Talks

  • Social Media Content Creation

All services are advisory and consultative in nature and do not guarantee specific outcomes, purchases, or results.

3. Booking and Payments

All services must be booked in advance through our website or by contacting us directly through the contact form. You will then be contacted to arrange an initial consultation.

A strictly non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total service fee is required to secure your booking. You have 48 hours to pay this deposit or you risk losing your appointment. This deposit becomes void after 2 months.

Full payment must be made by the day of your appointment. If you are having multiple sessions, full payment must be made no later than the day of your first session.

You may also choose to pay in full at the time of booking.

If Kate is required to travel outside Zones 1–2 of London, or outside of London via train, a travel charge will be added to your deposit.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. The deposit remains non-refundable, and a £90 fee will be charged if less than 48 hours’ notice is given.

The deposit is non-refundable as Kate, being a freelance, self-employed Personal Stylist, reserves this time exclusively for you. Late cancellations result in a financial loss to the business.

Rescheduling is permitted up to 48 hours before your appointment. One reschedule is honoured. A second reschedule will incur a £90 fee added to your final payment. You must rebook your new date at the time of rescheduling.

If you reschedule for a third time, your deposit becomes invalid and a new deposit will be required.

5. Confidentiality

All personal information and style preferences shared during consultations and appointments are confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are expected to provide accurate and honest information regarding their style preferences, body measurements, and any other relevant details.

Clients are expected to read, understand, and honour these Terms and Conditions.

Clients must notify Style by Kate Lauren of any changes to their schedule at least 48 hours in advance, or a £90 fee will be added to the final payment.

7. Limitation of Liability

Style by Kate Lauren will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of our services.

8. Service Delivery & Refund Policy

Style by Kate Lauren provides a bespoke, time-based and expertise-led service. By booking, you acknowledge that you are investing in Kate’s time, industry knowledge, sourcing ability and styling expertise, rather than a guaranteed outcome or specific item.

Once a service has commenced, this includes but is not limited to initial consultations, research, sourcing (online or in person), communication with brand contacts, preparation of pieces, or pre-shop edits, the service is considered to have been delivered in part or in full.

As such:

  • The 50% deposit is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances, as it secures dedicated time in Kate’s diary and covers initial preparation.

  • If full payment has been made and the service has already commenced, refunds will not typically be issued.

  • Any partial refund, if offered, is done entirely at Kate’s discretion and will take into account the amount of time, sourcing, preparation, and work already carried out.

  • Style by Kate Lauren does not guarantee that specific items will be found or purchased during a personal shopping session, as outcomes are dependent on availability, client preferences, and external factors.

If a client chooses to discontinue the service partway through, no refund will be guaranteed. However, a partial refund may be considered at Kate’s discretion.

9. Suitability & Client Fit

Style by Kate Lauren works closely with clients to interpret and deliver their personal style vision. It is the client’s responsibility to communicate their preferences clearly and openly throughout the process.

If at any stage a client feels that the service is not the right fit, this should be communicated as early as possible.

Style by Kate Lauren reserves the right to:

  • Recommend an alternative approach or service

  • Conclude the service if it is no longer aligned

  • Offer a partial refund at discretion, depending on the stage of the service

No full refunds will be issued once work has commenced.

10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Style by Kate Lauren reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on the website and will take effect immediately.
